Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Share. By creating an account or using the Share app or website, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Share.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. Share is currently offered in the United States only.

Your account is tied to your phone number. Keep access to that number secure, because anyone who can receive its verification codes can sign in as you. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Share is a group travel planning product. We help a group agree on a trip in a shared chat, and let each traveler book flights, stays, and experiences through our travel partners.

We are always improving Share. Features may change, and some may be added or withdrawn over time.

When you book through Share, your reservation is with the underlying provider, such as an airline or hotel. Share arranges the booking through partners such as Duffel. The provider's fare rules, conditions of carriage, check in requirements, and cancellation policies apply to your booking, and the provider is responsible for delivering the flight or stay.

Each traveler books and pays for their own place. Prices and availability can change until a booking is confirmed. If a price changes before we can complete your booking, we will not charge you the new price without asking you again.

Some experiences are booked on Viator rather than in Share. When you tap through to Viator, you leave Share, and your booking is made with Viator under Viator's own terms and privacy policy. Share may earn a commission on those bookings.

Payments are processed by Stripe. You will always see the amount you are about to pay before you are charged, and you are charged when you confirm.

When you pay your share of something on a trip through Share, you pay Share, and you see the amount before you confirm. Share can also keep a record of who in a group owes whom, for example when one traveler pays for something the group shares. That record is a convenience. Share never transfers money from one traveler to another, and settling up is between you and the people you travel with.

Refunds follow the provider's policy for the fare or rate you booked. A non refundable booking returns nothing, and a partially refundable booking returns only what the provider releases. Extras added after booking, such as bags or seats, may not be refundable. Where we can, we show the expected refund before you confirm a cancellation.

You keep ownership of the messages, links, and anything else you post in Share. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content to the members of your trips so that we can run the service, including processing it with the AI assistant as described in our privacy policy.

Share has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post or send content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or illegal, that impersonates someone else, or that is spam. You must not use Share to bully, stalk, or abuse other people.

Anyone can report a message or a person from the message menu in the app, and block a person so they no longer see that person's messages. You can also leave any trip at any time. We review reports within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms, we remove it and may suspend or permanently remove the account that posted it, without notice.

The Share assistant suggests destinations, plans, and options, and surfaces live prices. It can be wrong, so check details such as times, prices, entry requirements, and opening hours before you rely on them. The assistant does not book or pay on its own. Every booking and payment requires a deliberate action from a person in the group, and prices it quotes can change before you book.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the traveler details you provide, and for holding the passports, visas, and other documents your trip requires.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to in order to protect other users, our partners, or Share. Bookings you have already made stay with the provider and remain subject to its policies.

Share is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service beyond those stated in these terms, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of airlines, hotels, experience operators, or other providers.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Share is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through Share for the booking the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms as Share changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Share after that means you accept the updated terms.
